A Guide of How to Play Poker Online

To play poker online, the player will have first have to choose a table on a particular poker website, and click on it. There is a button in a lobby and by clicking on it the table window will open. After this, the player can sit down by clicking on any seat that is available on such a virtual table. The player will then be able to see a character in the seat that he or she has selected. The player will have the option of entering the real money or play money that he or she would wish to get to the table by clicking on the relevant button available for the purpose.
In order to initiate the dealing the player is required to click on a button called, ‘SIT IN’. But before the dealing of the very opening hand commences at the table that is freshly begun, the dealer is decided upon. To do so a round of random cards are given face up to all the players and the player with the highest card becomes the dealer.
- On selection of a dealer buy means of a small button, the movement of the dealer button is clockwise to the players after each completed hand.
- Before dealing the cards to the players, enforced bets are placed in the pot. a. Small blind This is the starting blind bet posted by the first player towards the dealer on the players’ left. b. Big blind This is the next blind bet posted to the dealer by the second player.
- The dealer gives two cards to each of the players face down. These are called hole cards and they are visible to and can be used only by him. Subsequent to the deal, the betting is opened by the player in the direction of big blind’s left. This is done by calling out the big blind, or by raising, or by folding. There is participation of every player in the initial betting round.

The following round is called Third Street or flop. In this there is face up dealing of three community cards. The player on the dealers’ left starts the round of betting. At the end of betting, there is a face up dealing dealing of the fourth card for use of all players.

A fresh round of betting starts called Fourth Street or turn where there is doubling of the amount of bet to the maximum limit of the game.

On completion of betting, there is face up dealing of fifth and last card. The final round of betting called Fifth street follows.

After this round of betting there is show down of hands of the players that remain. The winner of the pot is the player who has the hand of poker with uppermost ranked five cards.

In case of tie between two players with identical hands they divide the pot.

Following this a new round is started and now there is clockwise movement of the dealer button.
